Staple

High waisted shorts c/o Chicnova; lace top from H&M
Most of my outfits pivot around pieces which are either high waisted, oversized, or cropped, if something ticks one of these categories, it's quite possible I'll like it! As such, I own many a pair of high waisted denim shorts yet it's not till now I've had an pair which were both high waisted and boyfriend fit to call my own. The comfort and ample space of a pair of boyfriend fit shorts rivals how I feel in a pair of pajama shorts, and we all know there's no comfort like PJ comfort. This pair from Chicnova is the ideal light wash denim colour with fantastic deep set pockets to keep all those valuables on your person. My take on the staple blue denim shorts and white tee is a touch of lace and high waist.

Graphic

Skirt from Hong Kong; graphic tee from Primark; cap and boots from eBay

Pairing a graphic tee with a graphic cap today just for good measure (bad hair day). I've been on a real head-wear hype recently which has subsequently resulted in problems with storage. For the moment, my fedoras and bowler hats are balanced precariously on the top of several Rilakkuma bears, beanies stuffed in a drawer underneath my bed, multiple caps in another drawer elsewhere in my room, you get the idea. Any innovative hat storage ideas you could share with me? My graduation themed Rilakkuma could perhaps do with one less hat...

Happy Friday all, with love~

Tulle-ing Around

Grey tulle dress from Topshop; velvet cropped top from Primark
Is this also your first full week of 2014 back at work or school? I'm feeling the full brunt of the January blues and as Starbucks no longer brew festive coffees, I'm searching for another avenue to console myself, mainly online shopping. I digress, sometimes pulling age old clothes out from the back of the wardrobe does wonders for inspiration. This combination of tulle and velvet is truly nostalgic as it reminds me of my every week dancing ballet and tap in preparation for upcoming shows and exams. The excitement of learning new choreography and making show costumes to eventually be able to perform is them is something I'll never forget.

Black Lockdown

Step hem dress from Motel; cardigan from Nasty Gal; beanie from Yesstyle; thigh highs from eBay

Sometimes you've just gotta succumb to the dark side, sartorially speaking of course. These are staple pieces in my winter wardrobe right now and I'm more than very likely to be gravitating towards black pieces until the colder months are up. This eerie, forest print dress is from Motel, use my code "viviyunn" at the checkout to save 20% on your purchases!

P.s. people seem captivated by my cat ear beanie, is it really that bewitching?
