MONKI X F21 :: Outfit Post

Wearing sweater from MONKI · dress from Forever 21 · hat from H&M
Even when I'm not wearing a crop jumper, I roll it up and tuck it under a belt for that crop illusion, wardrobe versatility is everything! Monki is one of my favourite high street stores, they always have super cool and quirky printed pieces hanging from their clothing racks at any time of the year, pay them a visit if you haven't already~

The Riding Pant

Wearing taupe riding pant from American Apparel · mint coat from OASAP · duffel from New Look

I'm a girl for instant gratification and although I've discovered a stronger resolve to eat clean (I promise I am trying!) results are waaaaay too gradual for my liking. Ladies, I swear by the magical slimming power of the American Apparel riding pant to give, from your waist down, the most incredible shape all without sacrificing an ounce of comfort! I've had the black pair for around a year and I wear them at almost every casual Friday in the office (nine to fivers, y'know what I'm talking about) through to the end of the weekend. Striking up the beginnings of a collection by purchasing the taupe pair was a no brainer!

Wishing you all a very happy Sunday and I hope you had a lovely Valentine's day however which way you spent it. Mine involved K-BBQ buffet and many Krispy Kremes (yes I'm trying to clean, but not necessarily succeeding) and was very lovely until my nightmare journey home took 5 hours stranded in the middle of nowhere waiting on a train, in the cold and rain, for a taxi, until I eventually made it back at 3:30 AM. Currently trying with all my might to fend off the flu by downing hot coke with ginger and lemon and wearing 5 jumpers indoors. Stay warm everyone, especially those also experiencing this brutal UK storm, stay safe!

Festive Nostalgia

Velvet dress from Missguided; clogs from Zara; ankle socks from Dorothy Perkins
Wearing my 2K13 Christmas frock that makes me resemble a 5 foot Christmas tree, but I honestly can't stay away from velvet for very long. It's one of those textures that adds instant glamour and fabulous-ness to any look yet can so easily be dressed down with slouchy cardigans and messy 2 day hair. I'm currently obsessing over cute frilly ankle socks or long thigh high socks with open toe sandals, it's the only solution to prematurely wearing summer shoes in winter. And I just really wanted to show you guys the print on the back of this open knit cardi, a dose of aztec never did anyone any harm.

Urban Decay Cannonball Mascara :: Beauty Review

For those of you with straight, almost downward facing lashes, I feel your woe, although my lashes have length, they do not have curl and of all these years wearing makeup I've only just discovered a curl holding mascara as effective as Urban Decay's Cannonball. I've tried so many different mascaras which claim to be best at holding curl, whilst in reality worked to drop the curl I'd spent 10 solid minutes forcing upright with an eyelash curler, to the point where this past year I've been wearing false lashes every day and lemme tell ya, they are not good for the pocket. Anyway, after watching several YT beauty gurus rave about this product I got my hands on UD's Cannonball a month ago and I've not touched false lashes since!

Where I'd been going completely wrong was purchasing mascaras with a wet formula, that is to say, non-waterproof mascaras. As a little side note here, waterproof mascaras contain wax which make the substance dryer and therefore won't weigh the lashes down as much upon application. Cannonball is so intensely waterproof (trialed on surfers even?) that whatever curl you've created with a curler, a few coats of this product will cement them in place for the entire day without budging or smudging.

Pros:
Holds curl for the whole day
A medium sized brush, perfect size for accurate application
A portable, sleek, slim tube
Formula is a very deep, true black
Contains fibres which lengthen lashes

Cons:
A tiny bit of fallout noticed during the day
Requires more effort to remove, oil based makeup remover definitely needed!

I couldn't recommend a better curl holding mascara and although we're looking at a price tag erring towards the higher end of beauty products, UD's Cannonball does a really fantastic job, it's worth it and I will be re-purchasing again.

Geometric and Tapestry

Cropped jumper from Forever 21; tapestry print shorts from Zara; knee highs from eBay; black frames from Firmoo

There's no flawless equation to mixing prints, all it really calls for is boldness on your part to trial and error pairing pieces that you love. I generally keep to layering a vibrant, loud print with one a little more conservative (I benchmark conservative pieces with ones I would wear in the office), but what's stopping you from wearing bold on bold print? - absolutely nada that's what. I'm digging geometric shapes on clothing lately and this cropped jumper from F21 ticks all my boxes! (geddit?) On another note, hello sweet sweet February, I'm so glad we're finally out of the January slump.

Share with me some of your print on print looks!
